You Octopi My Thoughts! / MOJO399 + CMCC73

Well, both MOJO Monday and Colour Me! had very unique challenges this week, so I decided to again combine the two of them, into this:
This was the sketch challenge:
And this was the color challenge:
This was a good exercise in stepping out of my box, as I don't normally make "tall and skinny" cards and the colour combination was one that I wouldn't have ever put together on my own!!

The octopus stamp is from Paper Source, the message stamp is from Inky Antics, the circle die is from My Favorite Things, and the rest of the products are from Stampin' Up!

Am I Really Posting This Now?

Yep, it's Memorial Day weekend, unofficially the first weekend of summer, and I'm posting this layout of a snow day we had back in March!  Well, the truth is that I finally finished it.  I only needed to do some journaling, so I finally got that done, plus made some minor tweaks.
All of the papers and elements I used are from the Winter Fun digital kit, by Cartabella, which you  can find on Snap, Click, Supply Co.

Now, time to turn on the air conditioning!!

Thanks for visiting,
Denise

Hey! S'up? / CMCC#72, MOJO398

A long weekend to me means extra time to create, so besides catching up on card making, I had the time to work on a card for two blog challenges -- I used the sketch from MOJO Monday and combined it with the color scheme (Stampin' Up!'s Bermuda Bay, So Saffron and Pear Pizzazz) from Colour Me!
This was the sketch:
You'll see I changed the sketch up somewhat, but that's the cool thing about sketches -- they get your creative mojo going!

Here's the color swatch.  I love the colors (especially Bermuda Bay), but I never would have thought of putting them together!  They definitely work, though!

Except for the dies, which are all from My Favorite Things, all the products I used are from Stampin' Up!

Thanks for clicking by, and hope you make some time to create this weekend.

Best,
Denise

Pet Sympathy

I've had a couple of good friends lose their pets recently, and having been there a few times myself, I know how hard it is.  So I put together this card for each of them:
I hope the recipients felt some comfort from it.  I copied the general idea from something I saw on Pinterest, but I don't remember who it was to give credit to.  All products (except the yellow polka dot paper) are from Stampin' Up!

You're Peachy Keen / MOJO 397

I loved the MOJO Monday sketch this week, and I needed a few "every day" cards, so I decided to make some based on this week's sketch.  Here's what I did:
Oh, and here's the sketch!
You'll see I stuck pretty close to the sketch.  All products used are from Stampin' Up!

Watercolor Birthday

Believe it or not, I was actually running out of birthday cards so I decided to CASE and tweak a sweet card from Melissa Davies, who creates such cute things with stamps, ink and paper!
All the products I used in this card are from Stampin' Up!

Thanks so much for visiting,

It's a Happy Mother's Day!

It's hard to express how blessed I feel that I still have my mom here.  She is an incredibly strong, generous and compassionate woman.  This is the card I made for her this year:
The message is from a really old Stampin' Up! set, but it's a classic so it doesn't go out of style!

Being a mom is the best job ever, the most rewarding job ever, and undoubtedly the toughest job ever.  Happy Mother's Day!

Smiles,
Denise

May Card of the Month

Greetings from Japan!  I'm here visiting my awesome daughter!  And I'm taking a few moments to post the Card of the Month for May.  You could say it falls into the "Friendship" category!  I posted a card earlier this month using the T.V. and I liked it so much I wanted to use it again.
You can see the inside message here.

Hope you like it!

Breaking News / MOJO393

For those of you my age and older, I think this card will especially appeal to you.  I absolutely had to have this die and coordinating stamp set from My Favorite Things as it brought back so many memories of sitting on the floor in front of the t.v. with my brother, watching Gilligan's Island or I Dream of Jeanie!

I based this card on this week's MOJO Monday challenge:
Here's what I came up with:
And the inside:
The retro papers are from a retired SEI collection.  When I was paper scrapping, I used to use a lot of their papers and loved their kits.

I don't know where I got the Great Dane stamp, and it's not marked with a manufacturer.  I think I may have found it on eBay.  The yellow card stock is from Stampin' Up!

Denise

Mr. & Mrs.

Yay!!  My blog has just had over 10,000 views!!  Thank you, everybody!!  I love doing this and I hope you like the projects that I post.

It's wedding season, and a new gal at work is getting married next week.  I put this together for her:
It was pretty simple!  Just one stamp (from Stampin' Up!) plus some spiffy papers and dies.  The bow was made with Stampin' Up!'s bow die and the other dies are from My Favorite Things.  The scripty paper is from Basic Grey's Scarlett Letter -- an oldie but goodie collection!!

Thanks a lot for clicking over here!  Hope you find some time to craft today!

Smiles,
Denise

Scribbled Thank You

Hi, how are you today?

I made a lot of different cards over the weekend, and this was one of the easiest!  It uses the Scribbles die set and coordinating stamp set from My Favorite Things.  The papers, inks and "thank you" message stamp are all from Stampin' Up!

Rolled Rose

As I promised yesterday, here is the card I made using the rolled rose die from My Favorite Things!
Makes a pretty accent, don't you think?

The stamp, inks and card stock are from Stampin' Up!, and the gorgeous flower background paper is from Bo Bunny.  The rose is made out of cheap, ordinary felt.

Thanks for clicking on over!  Hope you can find some time to create today!
