Back in January, I had the opportunity of a lifetime to go to Japan on a business trip. My college senior, Lauren, studies Japanese and I was thrilled to be able to take her with me! We were able to spend one day touring Mt. Fuji and the surrounding area, where I took some of my most all-time favorite photographs!
I used some gorgeous neutral white paper for the background on my journaling from Delightfully Distressing Designs. Sometimes its hard to find good neutral papers that won't clash or take away from your journaling, and these papers are great for that!
Thanks for looking, and hope you have some time to craft today!

Birthday Flowers
There is a fun challenge at Can You Digi It? this week! It's called Birthday Flowers. Using that theme, I put together the layout below. It highlights when my middle child turned the magic age of 18. Birthday pages are common, but turning 18 isn't!! The background paper that I used is from the Birthday Bash Mini Kit from Green Goddess Creations...check out the kit!
Thanks for looking, and have fun putting together some birthday flowers!!

Majestic Mt. Fuji
We've all seen the iconic images of Mt. Fuji, and I have always been in awe of its beauty. I had the opportunity to go to Japan a few months ago for my job and was able to take an extra day and see Mt. Fuji with my own eyes. We were truly blessed to have a beautiful, clear day and I was able to get some gorgeous shots. Still, the mountain is even more stunning in person...it's absolutely gorgeous!
I had been wanting to scrap this photograph since I took it, and finally had a good opportunity with the "Sketch" challenge at Can You Digi It? I love the cute vintage suitcases by LilyPink Designs! Check out the challenge and have fun!
Hope you have a majestic day!

He's Growing Up
And this layout is proof! When Spencer was eight years old, I took him to Memphis for a little vacation. We went to Graceland and I snapped a photo of him next to the historic places marker. For Spring Break this year, Spencer's stepdad and I took him back to Memphis, and I was able to get another shot of him at the same spot. Look how he's changed! When I am standing next to him, I now look up at him, and he's still growing! I know it's what they are supposed to do, but they're so cute when they're little!!
This layout was inspired by the new challenge at Can You Digi It? called "Butterflies". I used the word art included in Flights of Fancy by LilyPink Designs. Thought it was really appropriate.
Hope you find some time to create today. Thanks for visiting!

Spring Blossoms
A number of years ago I planted a little twig with some roots that has grown into a gorgeous cherry blossom tree. Every Spring, it gives the most beautiful flowers. It's one of the first things to bloom at the end of Winter, so when it does, it's a sure sign that Spring is just around the corner. So far, the tree has not bloomed, yet. I was able to capture these lovely images last year.
This layout was inspired by the challenge this week at Can You Digi It? which is Pick a Season. I used Country Chic papers by Green Goddess Creations and the journaling strips are from the Shabby Melody elements by Delightfully Distressing Designs.
Hope you are inspired to capture your favorite seasons!! Have a great Spring Break!
Best,
Denise

Dad Turns 80!
How blessed I am to have my father and mother still kicking! Since the challenge at Can You Digi It? is "Male Birthdays", I thought this was a good as time as any to put these special pictures taken on my Dad's 80th birthday into a layout. I used the super-fun papers and elements from Green Goddess Creations Birthday Bash.
Thanks for looking, and have a nice day!

Little Cuties
I've had this picture for almost 16 years and I'm finally getting around to scrapping it! In fact, I took this shot before I even had a digital camera so I had to scan the photograph. It's always been a favorite of mine and I'm glad it survived the years. I knew I wanted to get a good photograph of my two girls with their new baby brother well before he was born. I remember even while pregnant carefully planning what the three of them would wear for the photograph, and shopping for cute (but not too cute) coordinating outfits! It seemed the right time to scrap it for this week's challenge called "Little Ones" at Can You Digi It?. I used the Beach Fun paper pack by Striped Elephants.
Thanks for visiting, and I hope you are inspired to do some scrapping!

Oh So Pretty
I hope you have a Happy Valentine's Day! I know some people don't like Valentine's Day, and I do understand why. At the same time, though, we all have someone we love, so let's celebrate that! The challenge at Can You Digi It? this time around is Love is in the Air. I decided to scrap this fabulous shot of my 22 year old daughter, as it would go perfectly with the papers and elements that I used from Green Goddess Creations called Jar of Hearts! It's a great selection of digi papers, elements and even an alphabet! Perfect for highlighting those you love.

U R Crazy Awesome
My 15 year old son is, well, crazy awesome!! The challenge at Can You Digi It? this time is "Green is Coming", so it was a good opportunity to scrap this awesome shot I got of him last year! The cool background paper is from the same collection I used in my last post -- Shabby Melody by Delightfully Distressing Designs. I love how versatile this collection is! It can sometimes be hard to find scrapbooking papers and elements that are good for teenage guys and teenage girls, but these papers and coordinating elements absolutely work!

Way Too Cute
Such a fun challenge over at Can You Digi It? this week: Getting Girly!! I was happy for an opportunity to show case pictures taken of my beautiful daughter, Julie, last year right before she graduated from high school. They were taken in the Georgetown area of Washington, DC. One thing for sure, Julie is definitely a Girly Girl! In fact, I gave her the nickname "Julie Girl" when she was just a toddler.
I used the gorgeous Shabby Melody papers and elements designed by Delightfully Distressing Designs. And since everyone has a Girly Girl in their life, be sure to enter the challenge this week described on the CYDI blog!

Christmas Means Family
In my last post, I was lamenting the fact that I couldn't get a picture of my three kids together in time to include it in my Christmas cards this year. Well, on Dec 23 we were visiting my parent's house, and I was able to get some great shots of all three of them TOGETHER!!! I was so excited, I decided to scrap one of them for Can You Digi It's latest challenge, Sparkle Sparkle Sparkle! Again I used Kraft Kristmas Paper Pack by Green Goddess Creations, which as you can see is so versatile!
Looking forward to another year as an IT Girl with Can You Digi It?. If you haven't checked them out yet, you really should! Their awesome inventory is growing by leaps and bounds!
Happy New Year to you!
Best,
Denise

We Wish You a Merry Christmas
Most of us agree, it's "the most wonderful time of the year"! One of my traditions has been to always include a picture of my kids or whole family with my Christmas cards. I've done this every year since my oldest, Lauren was born, and she's almost 22! Well, now that the kids are older and going off in all different directions, I wasn't able to get a photo of either all three kids together or all five of us together. As time goes on and life brings changes, it just might be the last phone of its kind. :( So I decided to scrap last year's picture. I used the Krafty Christmas Paper Pack by Green Goddess Creations, which will go with anything!!
Hope you have a very wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year!
Best,
Denise

Daring Adventure
Ever since I started going to Kazakhstan for work assignments three years ago, I wanted to go on a camel ride. For whatever reason, I didn't get the opportunity until Thanksgiving Day last month. It was a gorgeous day -- cold but clear. The one thing about Kazakhstan is that when it's sunny, the sky is sooooo blue! Anyway, I was finally able to ride a camel, so of course I had to make a layout of it.
I made the map on the bottom half of the page by downloading it from Google Maps, which is a cool little trick to remember next time you're scrapping a place you've been. I used a gorgeous border from Vintage Symmetry by Annie J Designs at Can You Digi It? to divide the two backgrounds, which I think adds balance and interest to the page.
Thanks a lot for looking, and I hope you find some time to craft today!

Denise

Warm and Cozy
This is one of my favorite pictures of me and Jeff! It is a self-portrait taken during our New Year's Eve weekend get-away in 2011. We're both wearing our funky Russian hats that we love so much! The challenge theme over at CYDI this week is "Baby, it's cold outside", which gave me a great excuse to create a layout around this picture using the fabulous digital papers and elements from Delightfully Distressing Designs over at Can You Digi It? Aren't they perfect for the picture?!
Why don't you join in the fun and enter the challenge?! Would love to see your creations!!
Enjoy the season,
